As a voice and performance capture casting director I have a passion for finding needles in haystacks, as well as increasing representation in media.
An actor is an actor is an actor.
A skilled actor should be able to act for, and in, any media type, but understanding the differences is the key to success. The best actors are team players that study and adapt to what they’re working on and how their performance works in the bigger picture of the game or product.
Our content should look and sound like the rainbow we see in our world. I've worked tirelessly to push aside the limitations of traditional media resources and open up pathways for underrepresented talent.
With all this in mind, in 2022 I released my first book, "The Art and Business of Acting for Video Games", the industry's first such guide. I'm the co-founder, COO, and Casting Director of The Halp Network, the Co-Chair of the Dialogue and Performance Track of GameSoundCon, the world's largest conference on audio for video games and interactive media, and a member of BAFTA. You can also find me featured in the Los Angeles Times, Backstage, and Wired Magazine.
Recent casting credits include Gotham Knights, Wylde Flowers, Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, The Outerworlds, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond VR, Westworld: Awakening and Tell Me Why featuring the first playable transgender character in a video game.
Julia specializes in voice and performance capture casting for the interactive industry. With a focus on video games, VR / AR, voice assistants, mobile, location-based, and future technology, we understand the unique needs of software and development cycles. We have a deep roster of union and non-union talent, many with often needed, but hard-to-find skills like weapons training and stunt experience.
